Methodist Midlothian Medical Center, the first acute care hospital in Midlothian, is your choice for trusted care and continues to expand to meet the growing healthcare needs in Ellis County. Conveniently located on a 67-acre campus near U.S. Highway 287 and Midlothian Parkway, the five-story medical center features the latest technology and announced two recent expansion projects.

Methodist Medical Group Specialty Clinic Ribbon Cutting – Sept. 2023
In the fall of 2023, Methodist Medical Group and Methodist Midlothian completed a $2 million expansion project to open a new specialty clinic in the professional office building next door to the hospital. The clinic is the new home for physicians on the hospital’s medical staff who specialize in cardiology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and more.

Located on the second floor of the building, the space includes patient rooms, a reception area and dedicated offices for physicians and medical assistants. The addition of the clinic allows them to see more patients and gives residents the option of staying in the community for their various healthcare needs. Together with independently practicing physicians on the medical staff, the hospital is committed to quality, safety, innovation, and the health of our community.

Artist Renderings of 5th Floor Inpatient Care Expansion – Now under construction

Methodist Midlothian also recently began a $20 million expansion project to add 30 more inpatient beds so that it can continue to meet the growing healthcare needs of the rapidly expanding community in Ellis County.

The construction of the hospital’s fifth floor, previously shelled space, will now include intermediate care suites for patients and office space. The new facilities are scheduled to open in fall 2024.

“When we opened in 2020, we pledged to the community that we will deliver quality, compassionate healthcare close to where residents live and work. With the continued expansion, we are fulfilling that promise,” says Jary Ganske, president, Methodist Midlothian.

Methodist Midlothian, one of the 12 hospitals in Methodist Health System, aligns this expansion with the health system’s long-term goal to provide more patients with access to its award-winning care by addressing the medical needs of the growing populations in the areas it serves.

“The need to expand, after less than four years since our opening, demonstrates that we have exceeded the community’s expectations. We look forward to enhancing our team and expanding our services,” says Ganske.

Midlothian, TX — As Midlothian’s first acute care medical center, Methodist Midlothian Medical Center has been a trusted healthcare provider for over four years. With the town’s rapid growth, the hospital has risen to meet increasing healthcare demands, recently completing a $20 million expansion that reflects its commitment to the community.

This significant investment adds 30 new inpatient beds, Intermediate Care Suites, and additional office space, all part of Methodist Health System’s long-term strategy to support Ellis County’s expanding population. The new Intermediate Care Unit, located on the previously unused fifth floor, enhances access to award-winning care, allowing patients to stay close to home for a broad spectrum of medical needs. Methodist’s commitment to quality, accessible care is further evidenced by recent achievements, including its Level IV Trauma designation from the Texas Department of State Health Services

The Level IV Trauma designation is awarded to hospitals that meet a strict set of criteria established by the state, aimed at providing comprehensive trauma care. Methodist Midlothian has proven its capability to offer advanced trauma life support (ATLS) for seriously injured patients, stabilizing them before transferring to a higher-level trauma center if necessary. This new designation means that the hospital’s emergency department is not only equipped with essential resources but also staffed by highly skilled physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who are trained to respond quickly and effectively in trauma situations.

“When we opened in 2020, our promise to this community was to deliver compassionate care close to where residents live, work, and play,” said Jary Ganske, President of Methodist Midlothian. “These recent milestones demonstrate our dedication to this region and our strong partnerships with local providers to ensure seamless patient care.”

Since opening in 2020, Methodist Midlothian has achieved this significant milestones and achievements.

For more than a decade, Methodist Health System has served residents in Midlothian, Ellis, and Johnson counties through its facilities in Midlothian and Mansfield. Since its opening, Methodist Midlothian has continually expanded its services and facilities, bringing advanced treatments closer to home while leaving room for future growth.

Of the 67 acres allocated for expansion, only 30 acres have been developed, positioning Methodist Midlothian for continued growth in step with the community. Designed with the future in mind, the hospital embodies the principle of neighbors caring for neighbors.

“Expanding our services isn’t just about increasing options—it’s about keeping care local, where patients can remain close to their families and support systems,” added Ganske. “Healthcare should be accessible, compassionate, and rooted in the community. That’s our promise, and we’re meeting it head-on.”
