Carrington Coleman Announces Passing of Founder

Jim Coleman

Jim Coleman

I love being a lawyer because the law is the most beautiful
thing you can do. It is about helping people.

I am writing to pass along sad news about our founder.

Jim Coleman passed away Saturday, February 22 at the age of 96.

As you know, Jim loved the law because it put him in a position where he could help people. He viewed what we do as a noble profession, one where smart minds mattered more than brute force, where people were bound to behave ethically and morally, and where the greatest duty was always to his clients.

To say that we’ll miss Jim doesn’t come at all close to capturing our feelings or conveying all we need to say.

Instead, the truth is that through his leadership, Jim has become a part of what we do at Carrington Coleman every day. Jim’s values and passion for the profession are woven into the fabric of this firm that he created.

We’ll have more details on arrangements as they become available. To read the news release planned for today, click here.

In the meantime, please keep Jim and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
