Keeping Care Local: Methodist Midlothian Delivers on Its Promise

December 15, 2025

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center celebrates the ribbon cutting and grand opening of their 5th floor Intermediate Care Unit

Midlothian, TX — As Midlothian’s first acute care medical center, Methodist Midlothian Medical Center has been a trusted healthcare provider for over four years. With the town’s rapid growth, the hospital has risen to meet increasing healthcare demands, recently completing a $20 million expansion that reflects its commitment to the community.

This significant investment adds 30 new inpatient beds, Intermediate Care Suites, and additional office space, all part of Methodist Health System’s long-term strategy to support Ellis County’s expanding population. The new Intermediate Care Unit, located on the previously unused fifth floor, enhances access to award-winning care, allowing patients to stay close to home for a broad spectrum of medical needs. Methodist’s commitment to quality, accessible care is further evidenced by recent achievements, including its Level IV Trauma designation from the Texas Department of State Health Services

The Level IV Trauma designation is awarded to hospitals that meet a strict set of criteria established by the state, aimed at providing comprehensive trauma care. Methodist Midlothian has proven its capability to offer advanced trauma life support (ATLS) for seriously injured patients, stabilizing them before transferring to a higher-level trauma center if necessary. This new designation means that the hospital’s emergency department is not only equipped with essential resources but also staffed by highly skilled physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who are trained to respond quickly and effectively in trauma situations.

“When we opened in 2020, our promise to this community was to deliver compassionate care close to where residents live, work, and play,” said Jary Ganske, President of Methodist Midlothian. “These recent milestones demonstrate our dedication to this region and our strong partnerships with local providers to ensure seamless patient care.”

Since opening in 2020, Methodist Midlothian has achieved this significant milestones and achievements.

For more than a decade, Methodist Health System has served residents in Midlothian, Ellis, and Johnson counties through its facilities in Midlothian and Mansfield. Since its opening, Methodist Midlothian has continually expanded its services and facilities, bringing advanced treatments closer to home while leaving room for future growth.

Of the 67 acres allocated for expansion, only 30 acres have been developed, positioning Methodist Midlothian for continued growth in step with the community. Designed with the future in mind, the hospital embodies the principle of neighbors caring for neighbors.

“Expanding our services isn’t just about increasing options—it’s about keeping care local, where patients can remain close to their families and support systems,” added Ganske. “Healthcare should be accessible, compassionate, and rooted in the community. That’s our promise, and we’re meeting it head-on.”
